Language -  The setting creates an atmosphere that it is an action film based of the city being attacked in the background. The characters would suggest that it is a fiction film as they are wearing costumes that are unnatural to the real world. In the poster, the colours are dark so it would represent that it is a film which includes a lot of violence and action.

Audience - This looks like it would be targeted at an audience of people who enjoy special effects and action-packed superhero battles. The age range would likely fall in teenagers to adults due to the movement involved that would be entertaining for them and heavily on the costumes.

Industry-  The film was produced by a company marvel which is owned by The Walt Disney Company. The names on the top are the main characters shown on the poster and the names all at the bottom are the production team. The director was Joss Whedon.

Representation- The image shows seven people who look like they are ready for a fight. The background suggests that there is already something violent happening and that they need to ‘save’ the city. Iron man being at front suggests that he is the leader of the group. Captain America in the back with the shield suggests that he uses it to protect himself and maybe the other superheroes.

Mise-en-scene: Stranger Things analysis

  Costume At the start of the film there was a scientist running through the halls. I know this as the guy running had a lab coat, name tag and a normal suit and tie on making him look like he works within the science area. Later on in the clip there were a couple of kids who wore clothes that seemed like it was a cold atmosphere. I think this because there are lots of layering on the clothes and it was dark making it seem colder. Lighting The lighting is dark and gloomy throughout the whole clip. One of the lights shown are flickering throughout the halls giving the effect that it is a dramatic scene as if something might happen. The low, shadowy lighting creates a high contrast look that builds suspense.  Setting An isolated underground laboratory. Long corridors and heavy doors say it might be a secretive area with government experiment. This creates a sense of danger and private place. Whereas outside it seems bright and more comfortable as it is outdoors.
